Our History

Frances and Kate forged a connection in 2015 that would ignite a transformative journey in public health systems. Our collaboration began through a pioneering learning community of the ten largest school districts across the nation, all working to incorporate holistic health services into their school systems. 

Frances was managing school-based health programs for the L.A. Unified School District, and Kate facilitated the district health collaborative through the National School-Based Health Alliance. We quickly bonded over a shared vision of public systems that actually foster social good, and the belief that we do in fact have what it takes to make lasting changes.

In 2018, we came back together through a public health network to spearhead nation-wide systems change initiatives. As part of the Network Support Team, we laid the foundation for what would evolve into the Oral Health Progress and Equity Network (OPEN). This solidified our commitment to equity and advancing progress through collaborative leadership.

For nearly a decade, we have embodied “service with a smile” with some pep in our step! We are committed to lifelong learning, prioritizing authentic connections, and examining situations with an abundance mindset. Today, our partnerships span national, state, and local levels, collaborating with esteemed organizations such as the All In: Data for Community Health Network, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Southeast Michigan Seniors Regional Collaborative, and the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health.

We live for connecting authentically with others to shape a future where justice and equity prevail. We are blessed to be building on the legacy of our collaborative passion and transformative connections.
